How It Works

1. Request a Provisional Estimate

Email sales@affordablebullion.co.uk with photos or a description of your items. We aim to reply within one business day. Calculator and email estimates are provisional.

2. Receive Your QR Code

If you’d like to proceed, we’ll send you a unique QR code for posting your items. Scan it at the Post Office and hand over your parcel. The code provides the correct label and destination, so no paperwork is needed.

3. Send Your Items

Use the QR code to send your items by Royal Mail Special Delivery. Each parcel is insured in transit up to £10,000, subject to the terms of our cover. Royal Mail tracking lets you check when your parcel is delivered. We recommend posting promptly because precious-metal prices can change.

4. Verification and Final Offer

When your items arrive, our specialists check their authenticity, weight, purity and condition using professional testing equipment. We confirm your final offer after these checks.

5. Same-Day Payment

If you accept our final offer, we’ll arrange payment by bank transfer or Faster Payments on the same day.

Estimates, Valuation and Returns

Calculator and email estimates don’t lock in a price. We use the applicable market price on the day your parcel is delivered to us, then verify the items’ weight, purity, authenticity and condition. Precious-metal prices can rise or fall before delivery, so your final offer may be higher or lower than your estimate.

You can accept or decline the final offer. If you decline, we’ll return your items as received. You’ll need to pay the return postage. We don’t charge testing or assessment fees.
